The best cheesy bacon knots

Jump to Recipe

I am not a huge bacon fan, but I do love these. Seriously, these not only look super cool on the buffet, but they are so easy to eat and the first thing gone.

The whole this actually does have a history. I was all about baking bacon until I got my air fryer. That is when this all started – when I couldn’t fit all the long bacon strips in my air fryer. I was twisting the bacon to make it fit, twirling it, folding it. . then I just tied it in a knot. Well, that left a little hole, a little well, if you will, that needed to be filled with something. At first I tried a combo of cream cheese, Everything but The Bagel seasoning and some shredded cheese. I think the cheese combo and spices works a little better, but you can play with it.

Ways to mix this up for variety, but use your imagination:

  • Chopped mushroom on the bacon knot before you top it with cheese
  • Use a different spice like paprika. Trader Joe’s has some great combos.
  • I love Fresh Jax spice combos a LOT. Check them out here – I am NOT an affiliate of Amazon or Fresh Jax.
  • Brush the knots with egg white before cooking
  • Tie the bacon around a small piece of asparagus before topping with cheese.
  • Pepper Jack cheese! Yum!

I use Butcher Box bacon, but most any bacon will do. Thicker cuts are harder to tie, but you can still figure it out with a little finesse.

  1. Tie bacon in a knot. I do 2 ties, but one is fine, too. It depends on the bacon you are using.

Place in air fryer, and top with cheese and spices. Air fry on 400* for 10-12 minutes
