Excellent meal prep idea that turns your fridge into the best Burger Bar in town
Burger Bowls. . . When I first started making burger bowls it was when I ate a ketogenic diet. What I did was put all of the things I’d put on a burger into a bowl instead. My friend jokes and calls it a “deconstructed burger.”
Shredded lettuce, loose ground meat (usually a mixture of beef and chicken) then chopped dill pickles, some of my other favorite toppings including avocado or bacon. I think the original recipe was Big Mac in a Bowl or something like that. I was a never a Big Mac fan, so I took the recipe and did my own thing.
Fancy this up, or do a bare minimum bowl, but you can do this menu every day of the week and make it different every time.
Add green chilis and cheese on to of shredded lettuces and ground beef with brown mustard.
Toss avocado and tomato on ground bison over shredded lettuce with BBQ sauce..
A mixture of lettuce, cheese, cranberries with ranch dressing on ground turkey another day.
So on Sunday when you do your meal prep, you could have all the toppings chopped up in containers. Wash up the lettuces. Brown up the various meats you like. Then when it is meal time you can build you bowl from your own Burger Bar. Eat it cold or heat it up, and you will have a delicious meal with adequate protein in minutes!
